Takeaways and Timelapse #atozchallenge #inthelockdown

In The Lockdown - Takeaways from the pandemic and a Timelapse video

I love looking at timelapse videos so I thought I would try it out. Here is a short collection. You can also view this on my youtube channel (see link under video).

This was taken on my iphone and I used iMovie to stitch them all together.

Hope you enjoy it.

While the pandemic is a terrible occurance that has taken many lives, there are some takeaways from this.

Pollution has gone down significantly - air, water and noise.

The air just seems clearer, it's very quiet and I see lots of birds everywhere.  I also find we are suffering less from hayfever. Because I am not commuting to and from work, I feel a lot more relaxed even though I am working from home and I am quite busy.

This has to be a good thing and we should consider how we can return to "normal" but yet keep pollution levels down. Or at least give nature some days in the year to breathe. Perhaps once a month we could all do a lockdown day and make it a Nature's day.

Stayiing home has also gien me a chance to do the things I've neglected like blogging on the AtoZ. I've also started vlogging each day (keeping a diary of sorts) and that has been a challenge but also a lot of fun. I've also been enjoying my garden everyday and appreciating the flowers and plants in them.  And I've been playing around with photography like timelapse videos :)

If you are in lockdown, how are you spending your time?

Today I leave you with this beautiful song by John Denver, another one of my favourites. Annie's song truly connects me with Nature. It reminds me of the different aspects of Nature.

You fill up my senses
Like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in Springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean ...

  2. You have a nice theme, Suzy! It is important to celebrate the good things. I have also noticed a lot more birdsong on my nature walks. It is wonderful. And my allergies have significantly decreased as well.

  3. Yes - timelapse is fun and I too have been blogging again because of lockdown - and my partner and I spend most days trying to get a run-down allotment into shape...

  4. I love your photography experiments . I wish I could do such stuff but I seem to be busier than ever during the lockdown. And thanks for the song . Brings back old memories . I agree that we should have e a Nature day-perhaps revive the Sabbath tradition where the whole world does nothing on one day but contemplate and relax

  6. Beautiful post, Suzy :-)
Haven't heard that song in ages.
At the very least on account of Earth Day we should totally do an annual "no pollution day".
My everyday life hasn't changed that drastically because I still go into work. Of course there's nowhere to go, and i try to limit my grocery trips to 1-2 a week, so we have more quiet time at home, which I enjoy. A-Z keeps me busy, we'll talk again next month!

  8. Yes, this lock down has made us realize a lot of things. I like the idea of total lockdown every year for a few days. Hope we learn our lessons and do not commit the same mistakes again. Lock down has made my life hectic... with work from home and chores, I have no time to relax or even read. Cant wait to get back to my earlier normal!

  10. Time lapse videos are definitely fun, aren't they?
Lockdown is something we have been forced to do by Nature so that we restore what has been lost.
