A to Z Challenge
In The Lockdown - Exercise and Entertainment
But when I was young we had no TV, no smartphones, no computer. Books and music were limited. There were no headphones so we had to share the music. We were only allowed to play the gramaphone for an hour or two each day.
And so we became our own artists and entertainers. We created our own games, we learned to play on our own. We wrote our own story and poems.
When the cousins all met up we would create our own plays and present them to our parents.
We painted and sang and danced around the house and we made things by recycling.
And each evening we went out into our garden and ran around - that was our exercise.
Life was simple back then.
So how do you keep yourselves entertained and what's your exercise routine in the lockdown?
I walk around my garden and I also do some walking with weights exercises inside (watching some youtube exercise videos).
I am wrting - not with pencil and paper - but on my computer.
My plays are my daily vlogs that I share with friends and family on facebook.
And then I listen to those golden oldies that take me back in time when life was simple.
Today's song is from the movie Born Free. My late dad took me to see this movie when I was about 10 years old. It is one of my favourites for many reasons. I love lions, I like true stories, I love this song and last but not least, time spent with my dad was very precious.
Warm Regards

try to spend your quarantine without
music, book, poems, movies paintings and games"

Born free, as free as the wind blows
As free as the grass grows,
Born free to follow your heart
Stay free, where no walls divide you ....
(I look forward to the day we are free from the lockdown)

I actually remember this song... used to love it
ReplyDeleteThank God for arts indeed. Difficult to survive a lock down without them. Hope you are safe and well. :)
ReplyDeleteLove that song. And yes, we have different ways of entertainment these days, I'd say?
ReplyDeleteDifferent times, different entertainments!
ReplyDeleteE is for Embroirery
Just surviving. Minimal exercise and maybe plenty of entertainment.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, the world and our lives have changed so much ...
ReplyDeleteTake care.

I remember this song. I am trying to survive through anxiety because my husband is a Doctor and has been on duty constantly. I'm writing my MFA assignments and doing this challenge to find some relief
ReplyDeleteCall me old fashioned but I'm sure we had more fun back then! Right now I'm off for my 'excersise' - my daily walk along the beach.
ReplyDeleteE is for...!
walking in the apartment complex and going up and down the stairs is how I am exercising these days. Work, chores and AtoZ Challenge is keeping me busy! Love that song! Brought back some memories :)
