Silent Conversations - #MondayMusings #WordyWednesday

It was the end of day and darkness spread over parts of the Earth. Sita lay down on the floor of the ashram and closed her eyes.

In the palace at Ayodhya Ram retired for the night on a mat on the floor, relaxing peacefully after a hard day's work. This was the time he loved the most - his time with Sita. The time when he and Sita had "silent" conversations.  Ram fell into a deep sleep with a smile on his face.

The forest was silent. The moon and the owl watched as Lord Vishnu (Ram) waited for Devi Lakshmi (Sita). This was the meeting of souls. She ran into his open arms savouring His sweetness while Universes reverberated to the sound of sweet music.

Their souls danced to the sounds of the cosmos, entwining and separating in rhythmic and symmetrical patterns in colours so vibrant that are unknown to humankind. Together they chorused through universes, creating and destroying, enlightening and comforting beings of all kinds, all of their creation. God and Goddess working and playing, loving and laughing.

But as daybreak was imminent, it was time to return to their earthly incarnations.

Ram's eyes slowly opened and a smile curved upon his lips. "Why did they all think that by sending Sita into exile, he had severed all ties with her. Without Lakshmi (Sita) creation ceases to exist for there is no life without Her.  She is the breath of my cosmos, the essence of all creation, my strength, my joy, my love. She is my salvation as creation believes that I am theirs. And without Her, Ram has no existence", he thought to himself.

Sita opened her eyes and sat up. As reality dawned on her she wondered, as she did each morning, if she had been in a dream.  Why did she feel Ram all around her even though he was far from her at the palace. Why did she feel a love so powerful that it was as if she had spent each moment with him. She closed her eyes as if to capture that moment before the chores of the ashram took over and her mind drowned every thought of him.

Ram stood up and faced the direction of the ashram. He folded his hands in honour of the Goddess (Sita) who gives life to all. "My Sita", he whispered with love and in joy. "No force in the entire cosmos among our infinite creations can ever separate us".

Sita heard the birds singing, the gentle wind through the trees, the sounds of horses and cattle, the laughter of children. She felt the warmth of the sun, of the once Sun Prince now the King of Ayodhya, her Ram. She turned to the direction of the palace and folded her hands in honour of the Lord of all Universes. "I hear you my beloved", she whispered into the air. "For you exist in all things, in the Earth and the sky and in all creatures great and small".

The children rushed towards Sita waiting to hear her stories. She told them about Gods and Godesses, of the Earth and the sky, of Universes, of the Great Kings of the world and of the adventures of Ram, the greatest of them all.

"How, how", they asked.

And Sita sweetly replied, "Lord Ram is an enigma, an extraordinary being, an energy so powerful, so benevolent, so vast that to try and explain or elaborate is impossible".

~x~

Perhaps these poems will give you an insight on my thoughts of the love Ram and Sita shared for each other:
Ram's view of Sita
Sita's view of Ram

The story was inspired by the picture on the word prompt at Blog-A-Rhythm, from questions I've asked about Sita's exile and of  dreams I've had the last few nights.

Love is in the air - Zillion

Day 26 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Zillion

God and Goddess reunited
A zillion hardships braved with zeal
Their plan to save mankind completed
Now time for love and time to heal

Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi
Love all creatures great and small
And if you seek peace and eternity
In their sharan (shelter / refuge) you must fall

Rama and Sita return to Ayodhya where Rama is crowned the king. The festival of Diwali celebrated by Indians all over the world, marks the event when Rama arrived into Ayodhya.

Though the Ramayana is a chronicle of the life of Lord Rama, it conveys many messages. It's key messages are of love, peace and forgiveness, of overcoming difficulties, of giving chances, of courage and hope, of devotion and friendship, of humility and honouring promises.

Lord Rama's name brings us peace and bliss. May you feel it too in saying his name.

Hari Anant Hari Katha Ananta
Kahahi Sunahi Bahu Vidhi Sab Santa

Lord Rama (Hari) is infinite (Ananta), and so are the stories (Katha) about his glory
All learned seers (Santa) narrate (kahahi) these and listen (sunahi) to them in many different ways (bahu vidhi)
(translation from indianrealist.com)

Enjoy this video - Ramayana in 7 minutes

Love is in the air. Feel the love. Many blessings to you.

The Ramayana is a historical chronicle of events during the life of Lord Rama in an ancient time in a land called Bharatvarsh a part of which is now modern day India.

This year's theme was given to me through meditation. But more than just a theme I was also asked to write this from the perspective of Divine love and not just a recounting of the events as they took place. Hence the essence of my posts is "Love is in the air".

The individual theme and tone of my verses are also given to me. And I try to convey what Spirit wants to say through my poetry and prose. In essence, I only transcribe what is given to me, the author of these posts is my soul, the Universe, God and Goddess.

Love is in the air - Yearning

Day 25 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Yearning

Sita's yearning finally ceased
Her face with love aglow
Her joy at seeing Rama increased
Past year now forgotten so

Rama looked with love at his beloved
Heart bursting with joy and pride
For his Sita strong and so devoted
Was finally back at his side.

Sita and Rama delighted at being reunited, embraced each other. Tears of joy flowed from Sita's eyes, she felt at peace, and in his arms she felt his bliss. Her faith was unwavering that Rama would find and rescue her. Rama's heart overflowing with love and his joy knew no bounds. His Sita was finally back at his side. Nothing else mattered.

It is at this point that the Rama Sita controversy begins. Did Rama trust Sita, did he put her through the agni pariksha (fire test)?  In my meditations, what's revealed to me is that Rama and Sita had a love so deep that it is incomprehensible to us and unshakeable faith and trust in each other. Each action that they undertook, they took together. Rama and Sita could never hurt each other and the questions that filter through my mind are:
  • Do you really think that Divinity would doubt each other?
  • Do you think that Sita would've waited for Rama if she didn't believe and trust that he would come for her?
  • Do you think Sita would've lived if Ravana had touched her?
  • Do you think the heavens would've allowed that?
  • Do you think that Rama would've searched for Sita if he ever doubted her love and faithfulness?

Sita would have never have given herself to Ravana and strangely Ravana would never have touched Sita. His pride would not have allowed that - he wanted Sita to surrender to him of her own accord for that would hurt Rama the most. Sita would have given up her life if Ravana had touched her just as she had done as Vedvati in a previous life when Ravana had tried to molest her. And Rama knew that.  Questioning Sita's purity never even crossed Rama's mind.

We forget that Rama and Sita were aware of their divinity, they just never used their divine powers and always lived within human limitations.

So as per human nature, when we try to find the flaws in Rama and condemn him, may we ponder a moment on the questions that have been given to me.

The conclusion of my Ramyana for the A to Z Challenge in my Z post.

Love is in the air.  May we have that unshakeable faith and love for the Divine as Sita did for Rama and Rama did for Sita. And may we never forget that love.

Love is in the Air - War

Day 23 A to Z Challenge 2015 - War

Hanuman watches silently
While Ravana threatens Sita
Gives her Rama's ring obediently
When the demon angrily leaves her

The demons set alight his tail
He sets the city on fire
Hanuman's mission never will fail
For Rama he'll never tire

Divinty joining forces
What chance did Ravana have
Both sides suffered many losses
Rama's heart for both was sad

Rama asked Ravana to surrender Sita
Forgiveness even for his foe
But Ravana's pride was off the meter
He was sure he would win and show.

After many days of searching, Hanuman finally finds Sita in the Ashok Vatika in the island of Lanka and assures Sita that Rama would soon arrive to free her. Hanuman is disturbed to find Sita in a very sad state and Ravana threatening her.

He allows Ravana's men to capture him so he may have an audience with Ravana and convey Rama's message. Hanuman asks Ravana to release Sita and surrender to Rama, but the arrogant Ravana laughs at Hanuman and asks his men to set his tail on fire. Hanuman ceases the opportunity and sets the city alight as a warning to Ravana. But Ravana does not heed that warning.

Rama eventually reaches Lanka and tries again to reason with Ravana via another messenger Angad but Ravana was so sure that he would kill Rama that he challenges Rama to fight for Sita. The war breaks out and there are many losses on both sides. Rama feels sadness for all who die or are hurt, and all through the war he tries to reason with Ravana.

All through our lives, we get many chances to redeem ourselves. But so often we think that our actions are correct and we don't try to see the other's point of view. Rama gave Ravana many chances to surrender Sita to him and was ready to forgive him. Often we think that admitting defeat and correcting our actions shows us to be losers and pride gets in our way. But in fact it takes a lot of courage to admit and reform. And forgiveness does not mean we condone the action or become best friends again. Forgiveness means that the action no longer affects us.

How will it all end?  In my X post.

Love is in the air. May we learn to admit our mistakes and correct them. And may we be gracious to forgive those who wrong us. For forgiveness is akin to divinity.

Love is in the Air - Veneration

Day 22 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Veneration

Veneration: a feeling of profound respect for someone or something;

Shabri tasted berries
Sweet ones she gave to Rama
He ate them with such relish
And filled her heart with bliss and calm

Rama and Lakshman searching
Came upon Hanuman
A moment so endearing
Shiva Vishnu's earthly plan

The Vanar (ape like humanoids) army ready
The search for Sita starts
Rama's faith in Hanuman steady
His ring and love for Sita he imparts.

Trijata a loving heart
An angel in disguise
Deceived her cruel king and played her part
Sita to protect and comfort her cries

Sita had prayed that the heavens help Rama and Rama had prayed the heavens protect Sita. And so they moved heaven and earth to answer the prayers of their beloved Rama and Sita.

Rama and Lakshman following Jatayu's directions, came upon Shabri an old woman who lived in sage Matanga's ashram. Sage Matanga had told Shabri that one day her devotion to Lord Vishnu would be blessed by an appearance of Lord Rama. Shabri waited many years for that day and her joy knew no bounds when Rama stepped into her humble hut. Shabri tasted every berry presenting Rama with the sweet ones and throwing away the rest. Rama took each one and ate it with relish, honouring Shabri's love and devotion. Shabri tells Rama and Lakshman to proceed to Rishimukh Parbat (mountain) where they would find Hanuman. So they set off to find him.

Hanuman was an ape like humanoid who was the avatar of Lord Shiva. Whenever Lord Vishnu takes a birth on Earth, Lord Shiva does too for they are each other's devotees.  Hanuman was born to serve and help Rama. Their meeting on Earth so Divine and endearing. Hanuman's eyes filled with tears of joy as he beheld his beloved Rama. Rama's heart full of peace knowing that with Hanuman by his side, finding Sita was a definite outcome and only a step away
.

And so the search begins. The vanars go off in different directions to find Sita. Rama has unquestionable faith in Hanuman that he will be the one to find her. And so he gives his ring to Hanuman so that Sita would be reassured that Hanuman was indeed Rama's messenger. And Hanuman departs unhesitatingly, prepared to take on any burden to find Sita.

Sita in the Ashok Vatika pines for Rama. Surrounding by fearful demonesses, Sita is scared. But she finds a kind and loving soul in Trijata who was chosen by Ravana to guard Sita and to influence her to accept him as her husband. Trijata protects, loves and cares for Sita as if she was her own daughter and keeps the fierce demonesses away from her.

I don't think it was mere chance that Rama and Lakshman came to Shabri's hut nor was it chance that Shabri directed them to Rishimukh Parbat. And it was definitely not mere chance that of all the fierce and scary demonesses, Trijata was chosen to guard Sita.

In our travels through life, we meet many beings. Some great and some small, some who look beautiful some who do not. No encounter is by chance. We are often drawn to those who are great and beautiful, but those who are small and not so beautiful looking are often our helpers in life. Help often comes from most unexpected sources in the most unexpected ways. Rama and Sita looked beyond the status, beyond the looks and into each soul. They venerated each loving soul.

Will Hanuman find Sita?  That will be brought by the letter W.

Love is in the air. May we love all creatures, great and small. May we look into the soul of each and venerate each loving soul.

Love is in the Air - Unwavering

Day 21 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Unwavering

Jatayu watited for his Rama
To give him an important clue
On hearing this Rama lost his calm
And roared to Ravana mrityu (death)

Sita unwavering and scornful
Ravan's rage at the point of harm
Meditative and thoughtful
Her soul reached out to Rama

Through veils unseen Rama felt her beseech
He looked up towards the heavens
Commanding all to Sita reach
Protect her from the demons

Ravana carried Sita over the sea in his Pushpak Viman (aircraft) to his golden city of Lanka. On the way the vulture king Jatayu tried hard to save Sita but Ravana cut off his wing and he felt to the ground critically injured. The dying Jatayu waited for Rama to provide him with the details of Ravana forcefully taking Sita, Sita crying out for Rama and the direction they went in.

On hearing this Rama is both sad and very angry. He cannot bear the thought of Sita scared and crying out in fear, pleading with the demon. With a twang of his bow that rocked the earth and shook the skies and reverberated across the Universe, Rama vows death for Ravana. Citizens of the Universe rejoice, for hope arises that Ravana's reign of terror will soon end.

Ravana took Sita to his island of Lanka, He placed her in the Ashok Vatika (garden) guarded by fierce looking demonesses. He tried very hard to win Sita, but Sita loved only Rama. Ravana was beginning to lose his patience. He was agitated and getting angrier by the day. In contrast Sita was firm but calm. Sita's soul reached out to Rama. She had every confidence in Rama that someday he would come and rescue her. Sita found strength and solace in meditation.

Rama could sense Sita reaching out to him. Though we are all in physical manifestations, a part of our spirit remains in spirit world. When we connect with our higher selves, it is our spirit we connect with. Rama tapped into his own and Sita's spirit - Vishnu and Lakshmi - and prayed for Sita's safety. And the heavens moved to Rama's command.

Sita prayed that Rama would find her and that he would find helpers along the way. And the heavens moved to Sita's command.

How did the heaven's move?  That's  brought to you by the letter V.

Love is in the air. Know that whenever we ask the Divine for help, it is always lovingly given though it may not be in the way we expect. And know that there are helpers on the other side taking care of us.

Love is in the Air - Trickery

Day 20 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Trickery

Ravana vowed that spurn to avenge
A golden deer he sent
Rama took up the challenge
For Sita's heart on it was set

Rama's arrow struck the golden deer
It screamed out mimicking Rama
Sita anxious filled with fear
Sent Lakshman without a qualm

Ravana watched Lakshman leave his guard
Then Sita he did trick and abduct
Rama heartbroken and alarmed
His soul into pieces struck

Divinity forgotten
Forgetting divine plans
Rama grief stricken
Fell to his knees with head in hands

Had to write 4 verses for this one, I just couldn't compress it into 2.

Shoorpnakha took her sad tale to Ravana. She knew that Ravana would be furious and would attack Rama. But she wanted Rama and she thought the only way she would get him was if Sita was no longer in the picture.

Women were Ravana's weakness so Shoorpnakha spoke of Sita's beauty. She cleverly ignited his desire for Sita. And so Ravana went to abduct Sita.

But that wasn't an easy thing to do if Rama and Lakshman were at Sita's side so Ravana engaged in trickery. He ordered a shape shifting demon Mareech to change into a golden deer and lure Rama away from the hut. As expected Sita was enchanted by the deer and asked Rama to get it for her. Rama sensed something was afoot as a golden deer seemed unreal but Sita was adamant and Rama could not refuse. Mareech lured Rama a safe distance from the hut and then as Rama's arrow struck him, he cried out to Lakshman and Sita.

Sita was in such a state of panic that she would not listen to reason. Rama had ordered Lakshman to guard Sita and not move from her side. But Sita fearful for Rama, sent Lakshman to help Rama. She had no fear for herself only for Rama.

Lakshman drew a protective boundary around the hut and asked Sita not to step outside the boundary. As long as she stayed within, she would be safe. Ravana approached Sita in the disguise of a sage and asked for some alms. While she went inside, Ravana tried to cross the line but was unable to. So he waited at a distance from the boundary and asked Sita to step outside and serve him or face his wrath as a curse for Rama. Sita, fearful once again for Rama steps outside the protective boundary and is abducted by Ravana.

When Rama and Lakshman return, Sita is nowhere to be found. Rama finds fruits and flowers strewn outside the hut and fears the worst. His heart is shattered. He sinks to the ground in despair and loses his composure. Losing Sita was like losing his own life. Lakshman comforts Rama. In times like these, it is Lakshman who steps up and props Rama, who motivates him and encourages him not to give up.

One brother follows the path of revenge and desire, the other follows the path of love, motivates and encourages.

But what fate awaits Sita?  Find out in my post tomorrow.

Love is in the air. When we are down and out, may we find someone who lifts us up and keeps us going.

Love is in the Air - Rogue and Radiance

Day 18 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Rogue and Radiance

On an island in the ocean
Stood a city made of gold
Love for citizens was not an emotion
Its mighty king did hold

Wherever he did travel
Ravana wreaked havoc
Selfish and tyrannical
Born to plunder and run amok

Beautiful and radiant
Rama peaceful like a dove
Caring and gallant
Born to show us love

Ravana the powerful and mighty king of Lanka was a tyrant and a cruel man. He did not care for the welfare of his people only of himself. His actions were all adharmic (unrighteous). His focus was on power and materialistic values. His actions were based on benefit to self only. He terrorised people wherever he went for he thought that power came from subduing people. The accumulation of wealth was his primary goal and he showed it off in building his city of gold. Ravana manipulated all situations so that the end result would be to his benefit.

Rama's actions on the other hand were always to the benefit of many, to bring peace, to reinstate dharma, all done with love and care. Even when Rama eliminated evil, Rama did it with Divine love. Rama felt a deep sadness in eliminating someone and always tried to get them to change their ways. He always ensured that the welfare of others was paramount.  And he always kept his promise.

Rama lived within human constraints, never using his Divine powers. He showed us all that we can achieve everything we want to if we so desire, but that our actions should be done in love and for the benefit of many.

Rama and Ravana's paths were soon to cross but along the way Rama had to face many tests himself, of patience, dharma, friendship, loyalty and faithfulness.

And soon Rama's love for Sita and his faithfulness to her was to be tested. How will he face that test? Coming up in my S post.

Love is in the air. May your actions benefit many and may they bring you peace.

Love is in the Air - Joining

Day 10 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Joining

Sita to Gauri Mata did request
It's only Rama with whom I'll go
Then at Vishwamitra's kind behest
Did Rama lift up the bow

A garland of flowers in Sita's trembling hands
Heart beating in joy and desire
She placed it around the neck of Rama
His demeanour calm but heart on fire

Gauri Mata - one of the benevolent manifestations of Goddess Parvati.

With Rama remaining firm in his place, Sita requests Divine intervention. Sita's human side takes over, she prays hard for what she wants, just like we do. All through life we believe that we are invincible, we can do it all by ourselves and then when things don't go our way, we look to the heavens and ask Divinity to bring us the things we want. But nothing happens by chance and what is destined is bound to occur but in Divine timing.

Rama waited patiently until Guru Vishwamitra gave him permission to lift the bow. At this time not only was he under the care of the Guru but Rama recognized the need for the perfect moment for this great event to take place. The cosmos is like a musical orchestra and each note finely tuned to create the perfect melody. Each event has its moment in time and space, a moment too soon or a moment later and the balance of the cosmos is shaken, the melody distorted. Rama understood that Guru Vishwamitra would provide him with the most appropriate moment for this momentous occasion.

Rama's lifting of the bow and breaking it signals the crossover from being in the care and protection of his father and teachers to where he now stands in his own right. It also signals the moment when a Divine strength amplifies, the joining together of God and Goddess to commence their spiritual purpose on Earth.  The breaking of the bow sends thunderous reverberations across the cosmos signalling a warning to some and is a cause for great joy to others, just like the thunder and rain that is a blessing to a drought stricken land and a cause for concern where waters are in flood.

Such a moment of joy for Sita and Rama. His gazed lovingly fixed on Sita as she walked up to him, her eyes darting up and down stealing his glances. Sita emotional and heart beating wildly desirous yet nervous, Rama's calm demeanour trying to put her at ease and reassuring her. Their loving energies entwining and setting their hearts on fire. Both savouring this glorious and divine moment and consecrating it to their memory. Both never once doubting if this was the right thing to do, for a soul made connection is never in doubt. God and Goddess enjoying their human encounter.  Such a beautiful moment.

Rama and Sita so in love head off to Ayodhya. What awaits them there is brought to you by the letter K tomorrow.

Love is in the air. May you all know that Divinely blessed love of your life when the moment arrives, never in doubt always in love.

Love is in the Air - Human Headsets

Day 8 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Human Headsets

Kings and princes from far off lands
Full of arrogance and pride
Came to seek Sita's hand
The bow to lift they tried

Sita watched with anxiety
Each failure a relief
Beseeching Rama silently
To make true her desired belief

King Janak had placed a difficult test. Only the one who would lift Shiva's bow and string it, could have the hand of Sita. King Janak wanted to ensure that the man who would marry Sita was truly worthy of her. Sita was his treasure and he believed that only someone who was extraordinary could lift the bow.

Many came to win Sita's hand and seeing the bow thought that this was an easy test to win. They came in their finery, handsome men of great prowess. But Sita saw none of that and their arrogant demeanour, was a complete turn off for her.  She cared not for materialistic riches, only of the soul within. Human headsets are so different from spiritual ones.

And Sita had already given her heart to Lord Rama. He looked radiant and magnificent. His inner glow shone through, soft yet commanding. He brought tranquillity and he was mesmerising.

Each time a prince or king stood up to attempt a lift, Sita's heart was in her mouth. And each time they failed, relief washed over her. For that was another chance for Rama to win her hand.

Sita grew impatient and to end her misery kept beseeching Rama silently to pick up the bow. But even Gods and Godesses in human births have to abide with human emotions, patience, Divine timing and most of all have Belief and Faith.

How did Rama react to her beseeching?   Coming up in tomorrow's post.

Love is in the air. When things don't seem to go our way, may we believe and have faith that all is well and is as it should be.

Love is in the Air - Germination

Day 7 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Germination

Don't ask me why Germination - it's the word that kept running through my head so had to go with it.

Rama looked up and caught his breath
Sita's eyes beheld her Lord
Vishnu Lakshmi's beating hearts
Drowned every other thought

Somewhere deep within their souls
A recognition dawned
Though human minds negate those realms
Yet love began to spawn

In a garden of flowers love germinated. The seed that had been planted somewhere in the Universe, the seed of love, suddenly sprouted. There was instant recognition between Rama and Sita, a connection of souls.

This was not physical love as we know it, this was a deep rooted spiritual, transcendental love. This was a coming together of two souls incarnating on Earth for a common purpose. This was love in the highest degree.

The moment of their meeting was pre set and pre agreed. Every aspect of it had been rehearsed before their descent to Earth. Their demeanour, the look in their eyes, the setting in the garden, each nuance etched in their memories that triggered a recollection.

And the moment their eyes beheld each other, their souls opened up and connected and joy chorused through. They knew that the moment of their joining had arrived.

Until now the loving relationships they had individually shared had been with parents, siblings, teachers, citizens, friends. members of their courts.  They had mastered these relationships - obedient and respectful children, caring siblings, respectful students, loyal friends, kind and compassionate to all citizens. Love in different forms.

Now it was time for a more intimate relationship, a culmination of all forms of love into one. This was a simulation of love that the Divine has for all of us, the romance of souls.

The meeting of Rama and Sita is one of my favourite parts of the Ramayana. This is the moment of bliss and if we can truly imagine that moment when their eyes beheld each other and joy burst forth within them, we can also feel that bliss and joy.

Sometime ago I wrote two poems on the moments when Rama beheld Sita and Sita beheld Rama. These poems depict that moment of joy and bliss.

Rama beheld Sita  -  She looked most beautiful
Sita beheld Rama  -  In a time gone by

Is love meant to be tested or does love come easy? Come back tomorrow to find out.

Love is in the air - May the seeds of Divine love be lovingly cultivated within us.

Love is in the Air - Fate

Day 6 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Fate

To Mithila the trio came
Sita's Swayamvar to attend
Citizen's in awe of Rama's fame
To Sita they did tell

Sita wondered why his name
Quickened her beating heart
Perhaps this meeting was her fate
Was he her life counterpart?

Swayamvar - practice in ancient India of choosing a husband, from among a list of suitors, by a girl of marriageable age  (from Wikipedia)

Having completed their education, Vishwamitra had one more task to complete - to unite Rama and Sita. So to the court of King Janak in Mithila they arrived as was destined.

By now Rama had grown into adulthood and was a handsome, well rounded young man. Many battles the young prince had taken part in and won, he had learned the consequences of anger and the need to forgive (this is through the freeing of Ahalya and Gautam Maharishi). He had earned the right to be a protector and in observing his father King Dashrath interact with his mother Queen Kaushalya and his other queens, he had also gleaned the highs and lows of marriage. Contrary to belief that Rama and Sita were very young when they married, my instinct tells me they were young adults, mature and responsible.

Sita had a knowing, a great faith, that her prayers to Lord Vishnu to grace her halls and be the one for her would be answered. Instinctively she felt that inner bond with Him and believed that her fate lay in an association with Divinity.

Though we may act independently and look separated, we are in fact all connected by invisible strands of energy. Sita was instinctively tapping into Lord Vishnu's energy (as Rama). The eternal bonds between us are never broken. But we have forgotten how to tap into and trust our instincts. We have forgotten to connect to that Divine place that Sita instinctively reached.

The meeting of Sita and Rama was fated and circumstances were created for their meeting. What is fated cannot be escaped. Divine love for us is also fated. We have just forgotten that. We have chosen to believe that Divine love is selectively given. It is not, it is there for us constantly.

I often hear people say "God helps those who help themselves". Do you really think we would have an all loving God who would play favourites? God loves us all equally and helps all us constantly. However whether we choose to accept His love and help and act on it, is purely our choice.

Is love in the air for Sita?  And what of Rama?  Check out tomorrow's post.

Love is in the air. May we always feel that Divine love and know that it is fated, it is there for us constantly.

Love is in the Air - Delight

Day 4 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Delight

Young Rama he stole the hearts of all
So proud his mother Kaushalya
Sweet Sita prayed the Lord to grace her hall
She was the golden girl of Mithila

Divinity delighted every heart
Citizens of heaven included
Sita Rama though far apart
Eternally connected

Rama and Sita in their respective homelands of Ayodhya and Mithila were the delight of all the people. Both had endearing personalities.

Though Kaushalya was proud of her son, she was never arrogant. She was a devoted mother as she was a neglected wife. King Dasharath though a dynamic, shrewd and kind king, showered his devotion on his younger and favourite queen Kaikeyi.

Why you may ask do I write about Kaushalya and not Dashrath?  I believe that it was Kaushalya's influence that shaped the character of Rama. Kaushalya showered her love on Rama and was a devoted mother. Her love and devotion to her son made him a loving, secure and confident person.

The vision of Lord Vishnu that Kaushalya experienced before Lord Rama was born, is a clear indication that she would be a great influence in his life and shape his character. Being the eldest son, he would be moulded to be the future king - powerful, dynamic, courageous, discerning. But Kaushalya shaped the wise, gentle, respectful, loving and gracious side of Rama.

In Mithila, young Sita, turned her devotion to Lord Vishnu. Perhaps somewhere in the depths of her soul, she felt a stirring, a knowing. Devotion to Him gave her the greatest joy. King Janak played a big part in shaping her character. He was a brave, wise and learned king, well loved and respected by his people. Sita grew up to be not only loving, compassionate and kind but also with great wisdom and tenacity two key characteristics she needed in her adulthood.

Rama and Sita, growing up to be perfectly aligned to each other, complementary and balanced. The convergence of their paths in the future required them to be both individually whole and perfectly complete when merged like two interlocking pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.Though far apart on Earth, they were connected through time and space, eternal soul mates.

But what roles will they play on the Earth? That's coming up in future verses.

Love is in the air.  May we always find delight in the Divine.

Love is in the Air - Consort

Day 3 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Consort

Goddess Lakshmi watched with pride
As He descended to the Earth
She waited for a little while
To also take a birth

She is Lord Vishnu's precious heart
His shakti (strength and power) and His joy
Sita emerged in Mithila from the Earth
King Janak's spirit did fly

Goddess Lakshmi takes a human birth as Sita who is considered the daughter of the Earth Goddess. She was found in a field by the King of Mithila, Janak who was childless. His joy knew no bounds.

Lord Rama and Sita demonstrated the power and the meaning of relationships by being together in their human incarnations and facing many circumstances together.

Sita and King Janak show us that one can have meaningful and loving relationships without being biologically related and that successful relationships are made by attitudes and love.

Sita emerging from the Earth also signifies the healing of the Earth Goddess' ravaged heart and soul, giving new life to the Earth.

Goddess Lakshmi is Lord Vishnu's spiritual consort and they are the life force of each other and of all creation across infinite Universes. They adore each other and bring each other infinite joy. And throughout all Universes they work together to spiritually lift beings and spread the message of love. They are the perfect example of spiritual soul mates.

Contrary to some belief that soulmate relationships can be difficult and break open the worst in each other for soul growth, it is my belief that soul mates bring each other great joy and peace and these relationships are serene and harmonious. That however doesn't mean that they won't face difficulties or that their life path will be smooth and trouble free, it means that their relationship together even in the face of hard times and difficulties, remains harmonious

When spiritual soul mates incarnate together on Earth, they come to serve a common spiritual purpose, usually in uplifting humanity.

The term soulmates shouldn't be used loosely. Soul mates are spiritual associations whose essence is pure love and who connect energetically across space and time whether near or far. This love is divine and deep and recognition is with the soul.

So now that Rama and Sita have arrived on the Earth, what adventures have they planned for humanity?  Coming up in verses to follow.

Love is in the air.  May we feel the Goddess' power and her love. May we make soul connections with all beings.

UBC Day 30 - She Looked Most Beautiful

Day 30 Ultimate Blogging Challenge
Written for: The Write Tribe

She looked most beautiful
Like a golden sunset
Like a fragrant meadow
Like a graceful gazelle
Like a blooming rose
Like a gentle breeze
Like a swan gliding idly
Like a tranquil blue sea
Like a heartfelt melody
Like softly falling snow
Like an enchanting story
Like a glorious rainbow

She looked most beautiful
My mind was in turmoil
Radiant and irresistible
My soul was in joy
With her enchanting smile
My heart she did melt
And as I beheld her eyes
True bliss I felt
