Love is in the Air - Minds

Day 13 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Minds

Dashrath's mind in despair and turmoil
Kaushalya's in shock
Lakshman's rage shook the soil
But Rama was stoic like a rock

Vishnu Lakshmi with a knowing nod
Prepared to leave together
King's action to people felt roughshod
But the divine plan was now or never

Dashrath was torn between queen and son. Unable to displease one he seals the fate of his son and signals the end for himself. A powerful king was brought to his knees by the selfish motives of another.

Kaushalya is in a state of shock. Having lost the king already many years ago to Kaikeyi, she is unprepared to lose her son as well. She begs Rama not to go or to take her with him. For the first time Rama sees Kaushalya lose her composure.

Lakshman, Rama's younger half brother and Queen Sumitra's son is well known for his fiery temper. Lakshman is devoted to Rama and any injustice towards him Lakshman cannot bear. Without Rama Lakshman cannot survive.  He was born to be at Rama's side

What might seem like tragic events to mere mortals are part of God and Goddess' great plan. Karma and many destinies are woven into these seemingly sad and unnecessary events.

Re-iterating my statement from my J post, the cosmos is like a musical orchestra and each note finely tuned to create the perfect melody. Each event has its moment in time and space. There are no coincidences and things do not occur by chance.

How are events connected, how are karma and destinies entwined? Will be brought by the letter N tomorrow.

Love is in the air. When events take place in our life that are difficult or that we feel are unwanted, may we remember that we are all part of a divine plan and that each of us have a part to play in karmic destinies.

The Ramayana is a historical chronicle of events during the life of Lord Rama in an ancient time in a land called Bharatvarsh a part of which is now modern day India.

This year's theme was given to me through meditation. But more than just a theme I was also asked to write this from the perspective of Divine love and not just a recounting of the events as they took place. Hence the essence of my posts is "Love is in the air".

The individual theme and tone of my verses are also given to me. And I try to convey what Spirit wants to say through my poetry and prose. In essence, I only transcribe what is given to me, the author of these posts is my soul, the Universe, God and Goddess.

Love is in the Air - Fate

Day 6 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Fate

To Mithila the trio came
Sita's Swayamvar to attend
Citizen's in awe of Rama's fame
To Sita they did tell

Sita wondered why his name
Quickened her beating heart
Perhaps this meeting was her fate
Was he her life counterpart?

Swayamvar - practice in ancient India of choosing a husband, from among a list of suitors, by a girl of marriageable age  (from Wikipedia)

Having completed their education, Vishwamitra had one more task to complete - to unite Rama and Sita. So to the court of King Janak in Mithila they arrived as was destined.

By now Rama had grown into adulthood and was a handsome, well rounded young man. Many battles the young prince had taken part in and won, he had learned the consequences of anger and the need to forgive (this is through the freeing of Ahalya and Gautam Maharishi). He had earned the right to be a protector and in observing his father King Dashrath interact with his mother Queen Kaushalya and his other queens, he had also gleaned the highs and lows of marriage. Contrary to belief that Rama and Sita were very young when they married, my instinct tells me they were young adults, mature and responsible.

Sita had a knowing, a great faith, that her prayers to Lord Vishnu to grace her halls and be the one for her would be answered. Instinctively she felt that inner bond with Him and believed that her fate lay in an association with Divinity.

Though we may act independently and look separated, we are in fact all connected by invisible strands of energy. Sita was instinctively tapping into Lord Vishnu's energy (as Rama). The eternal bonds between us are never broken. But we have forgotten how to tap into and trust our instincts. We have forgotten to connect to that Divine place that Sita instinctively reached.

The meeting of Sita and Rama was fated and circumstances were created for their meeting. What is fated cannot be escaped. Divine love for us is also fated. We have just forgotten that. We have chosen to believe that Divine love is selectively given. It is not, it is there for us constantly.

I often hear people say "God helps those who help themselves". Do you really think we would have an all loving God who would play favourites? God loves us all equally and helps all us constantly. However whether we choose to accept His love and help and act on it, is purely our choice.

Is love in the air for Sita?  And what of Rama?  Check out tomorrow's post.

Love is in the air. May we always feel that Divine love and know that it is fated, it is there for us constantly.

Love is in the Air - Delight

Day 4 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Delight

Young Rama he stole the hearts of all
So proud his mother Kaushalya
Sweet Sita prayed the Lord to grace her hall
She was the golden girl of Mithila

Divinity delighted every heart
Citizens of heaven included
Sita Rama though far apart
Eternally connected

Rama and Sita in their respective homelands of Ayodhya and Mithila were the delight of all the people. Both had endearing personalities.

Though Kaushalya was proud of her son, she was never arrogant. She was a devoted mother as she was a neglected wife. King Dasharath though a dynamic, shrewd and kind king, showered his devotion on his younger and favourite queen Kaikeyi.

Why you may ask do I write about Kaushalya and not Dashrath?  I believe that it was Kaushalya's influence that shaped the character of Rama. Kaushalya showered her love on Rama and was a devoted mother. Her love and devotion to her son made him a loving, secure and confident person.

The vision of Lord Vishnu that Kaushalya experienced before Lord Rama was born, is a clear indication that she would be a great influence in his life and shape his character. Being the eldest son, he would be moulded to be the future king - powerful, dynamic, courageous, discerning. But Kaushalya shaped the wise, gentle, respectful, loving and gracious side of Rama.

In Mithila, young Sita, turned her devotion to Lord Vishnu. Perhaps somewhere in the depths of her soul, she felt a stirring, a knowing. Devotion to Him gave her the greatest joy. King Janak played a big part in shaping her character. He was a brave, wise and learned king, well loved and respected by his people. Sita grew up to be not only loving, compassionate and kind but also with great wisdom and tenacity two key characteristics she needed in her adulthood.

Rama and Sita, growing up to be perfectly aligned to each other, complementary and balanced. The convergence of their paths in the future required them to be both individually whole and perfectly complete when merged like two interlocking pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.Though far apart on Earth, they were connected through time and space, eternal soul mates.

But what roles will they play on the Earth? That's coming up in future verses.

Love is in the air.  May we always find delight in the Divine.

Love is in the Air - Consort

Day 3 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Consort

Goddess Lakshmi watched with pride
As He descended to the Earth
She waited for a little while
To also take a birth

She is Lord Vishnu's precious heart
His shakti (strength and power) and His joy
Sita emerged in Mithila from the Earth
King Janak's spirit did fly

Goddess Lakshmi takes a human birth as Sita who is considered the daughter of the Earth Goddess. She was found in a field by the King of Mithila, Janak who was childless. His joy knew no bounds.

Lord Rama and Sita demonstrated the power and the meaning of relationships by being together in their human incarnations and facing many circumstances together.

Sita and King Janak show us that one can have meaningful and loving relationships without being biologically related and that successful relationships are made by attitudes and love.

Sita emerging from the Earth also signifies the healing of the Earth Goddess' ravaged heart and soul, giving new life to the Earth.

Goddess Lakshmi is Lord Vishnu's spiritual consort and they are the life force of each other and of all creation across infinite Universes. They adore each other and bring each other infinite joy. And throughout all Universes they work together to spiritually lift beings and spread the message of love. They are the perfect example of spiritual soul mates.

Contrary to some belief that soulmate relationships can be difficult and break open the worst in each other for soul growth, it is my belief that soul mates bring each other great joy and peace and these relationships are serene and harmonious. That however doesn't mean that they won't face difficulties or that their life path will be smooth and trouble free, it means that their relationship together even in the face of hard times and difficulties, remains harmonious

When spiritual soul mates incarnate together on Earth, they come to serve a common spiritual purpose, usually in uplifting humanity.

The term soulmates shouldn't be used loosely. Soul mates are spiritual associations whose essence is pure love and who connect energetically across space and time whether near or far. This love is divine and deep and recognition is with the soul.

So now that Rama and Sita have arrived on the Earth, what adventures have they planned for humanity?  Coming up in verses to follow.

Love is in the air.  May we feel the Goddess' power and her love. May we make soul connections with all beings.

Love is in the Air - Birth

Day 2 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Birth

Lord Vishnu conferred with His Goddess Lakshmi
Their plan must now begin
His love for her made her blush demurely
He conveyed it with a sweet grin

Time to take a human birth
Lord Vishnu did exclaim
And so Lord Rama came upon this Earth
Evil to destroy or tame

Having watched the tyrannies of Ravana and the pleadings of Goddess Earth to intervene and save her, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, decide to put their plan into action. And part of their plan is for God and Goddess to also experience and enjoy human love.

We are often so focussed on God and Goddess as Divine beings looking after mankind, that we overlook that they share a deep love for each other and that each is the strength and life force of each other. Perhaps one of the purposes of human birth was to also remind us of that.

One of the beautiful aspects of Divine love both from Spirit view and as Lord Rama is the ability to forgive. Both aspects of Divinity (in Spirit form and human form), give humanity many chances to redeem themselves before any step to destroy is made.

And lest we forget, all plans in Universes are orchestrated by the Divine and we all have a part to play in it.

So as Lord Vishnu descended to the Earth as Lord Rama what did Goddess Lakshmi think and feel? Check out my verses tomorrow.

Love is in the air.  May we rejoice that humanity was blessed as a result of a Divine human birth.

Love is in the Air - Assessing Creation

Day 1 A to Z Challenge 2015 - Assessing Creation

Lord Vishnu watched King Dasharath
Ayodhya he did rule
He also watched his beloved Earth
Wrecked by Ravana the fool

Earth Goddess cried out in despair
Oh Lord I'm being torn apart
The blood of mankind fills the air
Destroyed is my soul and heart

If you haven't already worked out the epic event that my theme this year is based on, it is one of the greatest historical epics of India, The Ramayana which is the story of Lord Rama. It chronicles events during the life of Lord Rama in an ancient time in a land called Bharatvarsh a part of which is now modern day India.

And you may remember reading in my theme reveal post that this year's theme was given to me through meditation. But more than just a theme I was also asked to write this from the perspective of Divine love and not just a recounting of the events as they took place. Hence the essence of my posts is "Love is in the air".

I also add that the individual theme and tone of my verses are also given to me. And I try to convey what Spirit wants to say through my poetry and prose. In essence, I only transcribe what is given to me, the author of these posts is my soul, the Universe, God and Goddess.

My opening lines are based on a Divine assessment of His creation, setting the scene for His Divine plan, setting up opportunities for karmic destinies, setting the scene to portray Divine love. Note that Lord Vishnu assesses Ravana as foolish rather than a horrible or terrible being. Divinity showing love for all creation.

How did Lord Vishnu respond to the Earth Goddess' cry for help?  In tomorrow's post.

Love is in the air. May you feel that Divine love.

A to Z Challenge 2015 - Theme Reveal

A to Z 2015

The A to Z challenge is held in April each year and is the brain child of Arlee Bird   This is my third year of participating in the A to Z challenge. I look forward to it each year.

The first year I had no theme and randomly wrote posts. That was quite difficult to do so last year I went with a theme. I not only found that easier but more enjoyable.  So I decided to go with a theme this year too.

But themes are not easy to think up for me and this year and this challenge is no different.  So eventually I meditated to seek some answers. And the answers always come.

Then of course having got the answer, my mind went into some moments of doubt - really, is this what I need to write about?  But when the answers come from above, one must take heed and go with that.

So here it is, my theme this year, in the words that were given to me

A bit of poetry, a bit of prose

An epic event as seen by my soul

What could it be you all may ponder

"Love is in the air" here and yonder

Easy peasy?  Oh gosh no. Now I have to write that prose and poetry - more meditation and hopefully some dictation from yonder.

Looking forward to this challenge and reading your posts.  Looking forward to also discover some new blogs and bloggers.
