UBC Jan 1 GBE2 - Wish - Happy New Year

It's nearly 5.30 pm on Jan 1 2013 so time to post the first post of 2013 and for January's Ultimate Blogging Challenge.

Also posting to GBE2's topic - Wish

Do you make new year resolutions? Do you set an intention for your wishes at the start of each year?

When I was younger, I made a list each year of things I wanted to do and achieve, places I wanted to go. I rarely did or achieved everything or visited each place. Sometimes that was okay and sometimes I felt like I had failed in some way.

At the start of 2012 I decided this was going to be my year - the year I meet my soulmate, the year I finally move into my life's work, the year when I achieve great heights in fitness - this was going to be the most awesome year ever, all my wishes were going to come true.

And so 2012 came and went. No, I didn't meet my soulmate, I did not move into my life's work and I did not achieve great height in fitness. So actually none of my wishes came true.

That should make me immensely sad. But instead of achieving all that I planned to do,  I had the most amazing experience of my life - a moment when I truly connected with Spirit - heart as wide as the world (read my post on that here). That was a moment of bliss, when the Lord sent his love down to me at a time when I totally surrendered to Him.

So this year I will make no resolution and set no intentional wishes, I will simply go with the flow, I will hope that I will have many moments of bliss with Him, I will enjoy life as much as I can.

One of my mantras for 2013 will be:

"Everything comes to you in the right moment, be patient"

But I will make a wish for all of you.

I wish you all an awesome and safe 2013, filled with good health, prosperity and abundance, kindness, peace, happiness and love.

Warm Regards

  7. well I'm super glad I'm not the only one who has not made a single new year's resolution. Going with the flow is about all I can handle frankly, with the stresses ongoing in my life as it is. Here's a toast to the flow!

  8. Thanks Sandra. The flow has a mind of it's own. Going against it just creates problems. Yep, to the flow. I hope your 2013 is an awesome one. Thanks for dropping by.

  10. I know just what you mean, Suzy. When we're attune with the Spirit He leads us to where we need to go - which might not necessarily be what we planned to start out with!

    1. So true Corinne. In fact I can say with conviction that I've been where I never planned to go so really the only way for me is to go with the flow. And I haven't been disappointed where the flow has taken me!

  13. They say resolutions are made to be broken so some years ago decided to stop making resolutions rather set a few attainable goals. I try and keep things simple and then dont beat myself up if I mess up once in a while. But still have the goal reminders to being me back on track. Wishing you a good year in 2013.

    1. Thanks Karen. I look back over the years and find that when I've actually written down some goals, I've either fallen short or I've simply never started on them. Yet, I have achieved things I never would've dreamed of - like starting karate at the age of 48. The flow has always been good to me. Wish you an awesome 2013 as well.

  14. Maybe your next resolutions needed to be more specific and achievable. For example, instead of resolving to meet your soul mate, decide that you will accept social invitations and seek out parties that could lead to success. Instead of achieving great heights in fitness, look at what you can currently do and work to achieve a small step forward. Ie, if you can run a 5K in 31 minutes, work to break your best time. You didn't fail, your resolutions did in not being achievable and realistic.

  15. Suzy, I think you are exactly where you need to be! Accepting life as it comes is such a great idea and allows for stress free living. The goals were too broad in my opinion also. Living without goals is like walking endlessly with no idea where you're going. It's fun now and then, but in the end, one must have some idea where they want to end up.

Goal setting is vital for me. I always have to have a plan or I accomplish nothing.

I suggest you decide what it is you really need in your life and then think that through and make a reasonable plan incorporating baby steps toward the goal and a lengthy time line to allow success.

I wish you much contentment and a ton of happiness in 2013. Nonspecific wishes, you can define them!

    1. Thanks Jo. My plans are always derailed by the Lord above. These are not gentle taps but major bashings. He obviously has a completely different plan for me - I don't listen and continue planning and goal setting on my chosen path - so He continuously pulverises me. Now I've decided to simply go with the flow. Have a broad vision and see where it leads me.
Wish you an awesome 2013 and thanks so much for always supporting me.
