Day 26 of the Ultimate Blogging Challenge and time for Six Word Saturday
My friends and I were to meet up for a movie and dinner yesterday (Saturday)
We'd planned this for a week and we were all looking forward to catching up as we hadn't met up since before Christmas.
I offered to book the tickets as this was a popular movie "Life of Pi" and tickets were selling fast.
But something or the other came up and I never got around to booking the tickets (online). I felt quite bad as we were all eager to see the movie and I hoped that tickets would still be available.
So yesterday morning, I opened up the booking page and was contemplating which seats I should book when the phone rang. Unfortunately my friend wasn't feeling well and so would be unable to come along and asked if we could postpone our "girls night out" to another weekend.
Luckily I hadn't book the tickets as that would've been wasted. Obviously the Universe knew better.
Sometimes not doing, is most advantageous.
Have you had any moments like this where not doing has actually turned out to be advantageous? Please share your stories. Thanks
Have a great weekend
Warm Regards

DeleteI had a similar thing happen to me - I posted on facebook that I wanted to go and see someone in concert - Pam Ayres who I go to see live everytime she is in my town. One of my facebook friends said she would like to come with me - at first I thought this was a great idea and headed over to book tickets but then couldn't really afford both at once and was worried that she might then not want to come - leaving me wasting the money. I also always go alone - and like it this way so started to wonder if it would be okay to go with someone.. I emailed her to check that she still wanted to come and she asked me to double check the date... I waited for her reply but then forgot all about it.
ReplyDeleteshe didn't reply, I remembered, by now there was only one ticket left in the whole theatre so I booked it and will be going alone... she did still want to come, and I could've had 2nd row seats but now have them right at the back in the corner - but I will be there.. .I have learned to buy tickets first, brag on facebook later... Great post! I like your six day saturday theme... might start doing this in my journal. Thank you!
Thanks Traciness. Six word Saturday is a lot of fun. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteLove the 6 word Saturday theme. Nice thought provoking post. Good luck with the Blogging Challenge.
ReplyDeleteThanks Morvan. 4 days to go on the UBC - it hasn't been easy. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteI am always afraid to get tickets ahead of time in case I don't feel good and can't make it...since I suffer from migraines and never know when they will come on. But when Reba and George Strait came to town we hesitated but then went ahead and booked our tickets. Oh my word...the only ones we could get were third row from the top! They were awful seats...but it was a great concert! It lasted four hours! (:>)So in the long run we were glad we went.
ReplyDeleteHope you had an enjoyable Saturday!

Thanks Linda - I had a nice and easy Saturday. It's fun to be at a concert no matter where the seats are - just the thrill of being there is worth it. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteVery true.
ReplyDeleteThanks Janu.
DeleteBob Ross, the painter, always used the phrase "happy accidents" when something turned out for the best in a way he hadn't planned. Glad you didn't waste your money!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marsha - I'm glad too. Bob Ross summed it up nicely. Thanks for visiting.
DeleteI very much like and agree with this!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann. Glad you liked it.
DeleteOh so true -- the Universe does know better. I believe there are no "coincidences"!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Becca. I believe that too.
DeleteFunny, how things have a way of working out, when we let go..
ReplyDeleteThey sure do Corinne when we let go and go with the flow.
