UBC 12 - AtoZ - Koala, Kangaroo and Kiwi

Day 12  of the Ultimate Blogging Challenge and the letter K  for the  AtoZ Blogging Challenge

Too many wordy posts in the last few days so taking a breather with a Koala, a Kangaroo, and a Kiwi.

These pics were taken on one of my trips to Sydney a long time ago.

It was a great thrill to feed the kangaroo and touch a koala.

You can't see it in the picture, but the kangaroo actually caught hold of my thumb with his paws - just too cute.

And the koala was so soft to touch. Awesome feeling. But all of them were sleeping so couldn't cuddle one :(

So grateful to get a chance to do this. Such a thrill! I want to go back now and do it again.

But onto the kiwi (of the feathered kind).

Unfortunately kiwis are nocturnal birds and are usually housed in dark rooms. Photos are hard to get as no flash photography is allowed and finding them in the wild for novices is like finding a needle in a haystack.

There are about 5 species of kiwi. Here is a picture of the Southern Brown kiwi.

And this Kiwi wishes for all of you a kracker day  (kiwi slang for beautiful day)

Warm Regards

    1. Thanks Talya - the kiwi is the national bird of NZ. All things NZ is called kiwiana, New Zealanders are also called kiwis and the kiwi fruit is now called zespri!
