T is for ... Sky TOWER
After a wordy post for S, I thought I would say as little as possible.
The Sky Tower is an observation and communications tower in Auckland, New Zealand.
Some Sky Tower facts (from skycityauckland):
- Tallest free standing structure in the Southern Hemisphere
- 3 observation desks with 360degree views of Auckland
- There are 1267 steps from the base to the Sky deck
- The tower is often lit up in different colour schemes to promote different events or causes
- Offers 2 activities, the sky walk (a walk around the exterior of the observation deck) and the sky jump from 192m.
Here are some pics I took on one of my visits there:

Interesting stats and photos. The last picture is very compelling. It reminds me of the tower in Seattle. Cool.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carolina HeartStrings. I guess most towers are similar.
DeleteLooks great. My former college roommate and bloggy friend Rhonda from Laugh Quotes lives in Aukland. One of these days I'll get there to see her.

ReplyDeleteThanks Laura. Not for me either. I'm not good with heights.
DeleteAmazing photos! Such gorgeous scenery.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the CN Tower in Toronto, Ontario. We went up in that and you could see forever. I don't think I'll do the exterior skywalk though. GULP!
Thanks Cat - the very thought of the skywalk and skyjump is scary enough.

ReplyDeleteThanks Me. I hope someday your wish comes true. I'm too chicken to attempt it.

ReplyDeleteHi Corinne - the view is amazing.
DeleteThe highest I have been up is the CN tower in Canada, restaurant at the top, quite funny - i put my camera on the side, didn't realize we were revolving until it came back to me LOL Wouldn't fancy the sky dive though!
ReplyDeleteI am so adding this to my bucket list. Although I don't like heights, this looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an awesome place to visit and get pictures!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos, Suzy! No, I would never try that sky jump; I hate heights and would probably not even be able to walk up the tower. At least, I can vicariously enjoy it through your pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks, my friend!
