UBC Day 4 The Watched Read It List

Day 4 Ultimate Blogging Challenge

Oprah's 2nd Question

The Watched/Read It List

Right now, write down the name of the book you're reading and the last movie you saw. Keeping a list of all the books you have read and movies you have seen will help you remember where your mind has been and also, over time, will reveal your changing tastes and moods. Like any journal, the list will start to show you your own patterns. It must mean something, for example, that every 10 years you go through a vampire stage, then a poetry palate cleanser, before diving into some classics. And if you keep a list, you won't ever have to reread the first hundred pages of Finnegans Wake before realizing why things seem so familiar.

The book I have just finished reading is "Dying To Be Me" by Anita Moorjhani. I have mixed feelings about this one. There were a couple of pearls within it, but somehow overall she told me nothing new.

The book I am currently reading is "Signals From The Soul" by Ann Mueller. Again some pearls, and some parts that made me feel very uncomfortable (almost felt like she was trying to gain a lot of sympathy - got that from Anita's book as well).

The book lined up to read is "Miracles Happen" by Dr Brian Weiss. I love his books. They are a delight to read because they are so easy to read and they always leave me feeling happy. Looking forward to reading this book.

The last movie I saw - Sleepless in Seattle - just a couple of days ago on TV. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are my favourite actors so any movie of theirs is a must watch. I've lost count of how many times I've seen this one.

There are perhaps no days of our childhood we lived so fully as those we spent with a favourite book. ~ Marcel Proust

Snapshot of my week - a great week

Saw the Harry Potter movie The Deathly Hallows part 2 in 3D.

There were many posts on Facebook raving about the movie so I think I expected a bit more. And the 3D wasn't as effective as Avatar.

I should've gone without any expectations. But I still enjoyed it heaps.

It's quite sad though that it is the last HP movie.

Walked from work to the cinema with a friend and went window shopping for boots. Saw some really nice ones but way too expensive even on sale.

This week I did a lot of catching up with ex colleagues from different workplaces. I love meeting up with all of them.

It was cold again this week, particularly on Friday.  The winter is starting to get quite bitter. The weather was absolutely miserable yesterday. Miserable today too and there is a possibility of snow!

And in yesterday's miserable weather, I went off to get my haircut.  It's been nearly 2 months since my last one and it was getting quite unruly. Finally it's tidy again.

Went for my yearly check to the doctor - blood pressure perfect, bloods taken and hope that those come out normal *crosses fingers and toes*. The nurse was great, she got my bloods the very first time. Usually they torture me. But my hand is quite bruised.

Faith must be the topic of the week or else the Universe is giving me a message. So many "faith" posts on twitter and blogs.

Hope your week has been a good one too. Please share the highlights of your week, I'd love to know.

Snapshot of my week - Hallelujah

A weekly post on the highs and lows (and everything else in between) of my week. A nice journal for the future.

I'm back into my regular gym routine again so a big :D  there. Couldn't escape it before - it was on my way to the bus stop but since we moved into a new building at work, it's now further away. But I tell myself, the walk is a good warm-up. Though it's not fun on a cold, wet and windy day.

Last Saturday I went to see the Ten Tenors in concert. They were awesome and their rendition of Hallelujah was a m a z i n g.

The Hallelujah prompted me to watch the movie "King David" so I've been watching that on youtube. Richard Gere is one of my favourite actors. Not sure though about his King David role.

There must be something about Crystals this week - so many "crystal" posts on FB.

And there must be a lot of love going on in the world, so many "in a relationship" and "engaged" posts on FB too.

The weather was wild yesterday and there was a Tornado in Waikanae. I have a friend who lives there. Haven't heard from him, hope he is safe. It's pretty blustery today too. But the sun is shining and it's not too cold either.

Lots of happy skyping lately - my cutie-pie grand nephew in Florida, my 85 year old aunt I haven't seen for nearly 5 years now (so thrilled to see and speak to her), my cousins. Great fun. Thank God for skype.

I am convinced the buses eat my scarves - I've dropped 2 on the bus in the last month - 1 this week. My first one was a pinky-red pashmina - so gorgeous. But no one handed it in :( and the other was a cheap $2 shop midnight blue scarf. No tears there and won't be chasing that one. Scarf shopping is on my to-do list.

Watched the last episode of Roots (a re-run) this week. The kid enjoyed it too and is now asking to read the book - ordered online and should arrive soon. The kid does not like reading so this is a great blessing.
