Music is ... #atozchallenge letter M @AprilA2Z

My theme for the 2017 AtoZ Challenge is "Daily Thoughts".

Each day I will post a thought that comes to mind. The first word of the thought will correspond with the letter of the day.

So here is my thought for the letter M

Music is a moral law

It gives soul to the Universe

Wings to the mind

Flight to imagination

Charm and gaiety to life

and to everything

~Plato~

I think Plato summed it up very nicely on a generic basis. On an individual basis, that is for myself, music connects me to my soul, to the Universe, to the great Spirit.

There are so many genres of music. On different days, in different moods the genre and type of music changes. Some days I like my Indian music, some days English and other days in foreign languages. Some days it's bollywood some days it's Gujarati songs. Some days I like devotional some days instrumental. Sometimes it's piano, sometimes the violin.

Whatever I choose on the day, music is sure to make me feel good.

M    meditative and mesmerising

U     universal and uplifting        

S     sublime and soul satisfying

    I      inspirational and illuminating

C     captivating and calming     

Today I feel like some instrumental piano so sharing Richard Clayderman's La Vie En Rose (one of my favourite songs).



And a Gujarati folk song Mehendi Te Vavi - very popular as a garba song. Garba is a traditional dance from Gujarat. Watch the audience dance some garba steps (approximately halfway through).

Make No Promises #BarAThon

Make no promises. Promises keep you focused on what your mind wants you to do.

But it is the soul that knows the path you must take and that may not be the path you promised yourself or others.

When your mind is in alignment with your soul, you are in what sports people describe as "being in the zone".

How do you bring your mind in alignment with your soul - it is only with total surrender. It is what I call going with the Universal flow.

The way I exist is to simply live each day as it comes with total surrender to my Lord Rama / Lord Krishna  knowing without a shadow of doubt that He exists with me every moment of every day. And that he guides my path and takes me where I am meant to be.

I make no promises. I just know that I am in the zone when I feel the joy and bliss.

If you must make a promise, make the promise that you will do what brings your soul joy and then surrender to it.

Two years ago I wrote a post on "Paddling Downstream" as part of the AtoZ challenge. This post gives a more detailed perspective of surrender.

Let Life Flow

Write Tribe Festival of Words #4 - Inspiration and Creativity

My theme for this festival is "Inspiration in three words"

Day 4 - June 02 2015 = Let Life Flow

The many events in my life have taught me that the Universe has a plan all of its own.

Life becomes easy when we accept and follow its plan even when the plan at that moment makes no sense. Yet more often than not we continue to stubbornly follow our own plan and make life infinitely harder than necessary.

We love forcing life onto a path we think is best for us. And we keep walking the path that is difficult. We seem to think that the more difficult the path and the more we overcome difficulties on it, the more successful we are. Instead of paddling downstream, we love paddling upstream.

But I believe that when we are in alignment with the Universal force, with our life path, things occur easily, the right people and things come our way and life just flows.

So stop paddling upstream. Instead have faith in the Universe, follow its path and go with its flow.

Let life flow.

Note to self:  Go with the flow, Let life flow.
