UBC 8 - BFF - Here I Go Again

Ever do something once and swear you'll never do it again....yet you somehow always do?
Whether it's eating an entire pint of ice cream, quitting smoking, keeping weight off, contacting that person you swore you would never speak to again, fall in love, or buy those shoes you just KNOW you don't really need but get them anyway.....we always manage to break some promises we make to ourselves.

"Here I Go Again" is the prompt this week at Blogging for Fun and this is post 8 for the Ultimate Blogging Challenge.

So here I go again ...

Giving "donation" to the gym -
Once I lose the momentum, it's hard to get back into the routine. Recently I sprained my back
and had to stop "gymming" for at least 2 weeks. I really need to re-start the routine again. So hard
to get back into it in Winter. It's so dark after work and once I'm home, I don't really want to step
       out again.

Buying bags / purses -
I love bags / purses. If I step into a bag shop, I just have to buy one. I love shopping for bags
in India. Each time I visit, I tell myself I won't be buying any, but it's just so much fun to shop
there. I've now lost count of how many I have.

Eating cashew nuts -
I love cashew nuts and if I could be disciplined enough to eat just a few each day, I'd be okay.
But once I open a packet, I can't stop. Each week I tell myself, this is the last week I'm going
to have them but never keep to that promise. Will have to meditate on that one.

I do believe though that life is meant to be joyful, and if my "here I go again" gives me pleasure and isn't too hard on my wallet, then I am okay to go with it.

On the other hand, 2 of my "here I go agains" would benefit me health-wise if I stopped doing them so I guess I should make an effort there.

Enjoy your day.

Warm Regards

  3. Great take on the topic! I was a purse hoarder once....LOL. One day, I packed most of them up in a big box and took them to my church thrift shop. Then I bought more.... Same with shoes. NOBODY needs as many shoes as I have.... I need a support group! LOL

    1. Thanks Darlene. I have a friend who buys socks - for a while she got me into that too - lucky I got out of that one.

  4. Dear Suzy,
My vice is gold jewelry and my wife's is shoes. You could try exchanging the cashews for almonds...a much healthier choice. Hope your back gets better soon. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hi Andy, gold jewellery is a good investment. Yes, almonds definitely healthier but not as tasty! My back is heaps better now.

And thanks ever so much for featuring my blog.

  5. Can totally relate to this "here I go again" thing! Most especially when it comes to breaking a bad habit! It's soo difficult to quit doing something that has always been a part of your system! It absolutely requires a lot of discipline in order to do so! :-)

  7. I too have paid endless subscriptions for the gym - now I stick to walking and yoga! Cashews are a weakness too ;)

    1. Hi Corinne, those gyms make a lot of money from "donations". I think yoga is the best I do some yoga at home. The weather here is so unpredictable. That's why I joined the gym.

  10. I'm really into the bag thing lately too. It's my shopping therapy. For some it's shoes. For me it's bags.
