Post 31 - The last one - for the Ultimate Blogging Challenge is ABC Wednesday's C prompt
Okay so I cheat a little, it isn't Wednesday yet but in 5 hours it will be.
Although I'm doing a music round, C is also for challenge so I'll write a few lines about the Ultimate Blogging Challenge.
Yay, I made it, but it wasn't easy. There were days when inspiration and motivation just flew out the window. But I got there eventually.
And now onto the music ...
My choice this week is Careless Whisper
Written by George Michael and Andrew Ridgely, it was George Michael's first solo single and was released in 1984.
It reached number one in nearly 25 countries, selling about six million copies worldwide.
I love the saxophone riffs in the song.
It's always fun to watch a live performance so here's George Michael singing live in Rio.
Youtube - Careless Whisper
And my Bollywood choice this week is Chal Chal Chal Mere Saathi
from the movie Haathi Mere Saathi released in 1971 starring Rajesh Khanna and Tanuja and sung by the legendary Kishore Kumar.
The movie and the song were both big hits with the kids.
This song always makes me giggle as in 1993 our mini van (our "khatara" - usually applies to an old car that's falling to pieces) wouldn't start in Heidelberg. So while the kids and their grandparents sat in the car, my cousins and I pushed it down the road to start it up. And to entertain ourselves, we sang this song. The first verse was very apt for us as well!

Have a chipper day.
Warm Regards

Dear Suzy,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing the Ultimate Blogging Challenge! I know only too well how you must feel drained. It was only a couple of months ago that I did both the A-Z Challenge and NaPoWriMo at the same time. As if that wasn't enough, I'm also on the Post A-Z Road Trip where I'll have to visit all 1718 bloggers that took part in the A-Z Challenge! I've visited about 200 already, but still have a loooong way to go! LOL
I'm not too much of a George Michael fan, but Careless Whisper has to be one of his best.
Laughing...Chal Chal Chal brings back memories. Kishore could sing real good when he wanted to, but he also sang a lot of foolishness too. Nice shares. Thanks.
Missed your input this month over at Lovers' Cove. Hoping you'll be able to join us next month. Don't forget Blog Hop Saturday! this weekend. Linky will open on Friday. Enjoy the rest of the week my dear!
C is for The Confidence Of A Man
Thanks Andy. Visiting that many blogs is truly a big ask. Yep agree, KK sang some absolutely crazy songs. but then that's Bollywood.
DeleteMy dear Suzy,
ReplyDeletePlease forgive me...you did indeed contribute to Lovers' Cove...a fine line at that. I don't know where my head is...must be the prospect of all those visits I still have to make that have me all flustered! Sorry for the error. ;-)
No problem Andy. :)
DeleteBoth these songs were big hits. But my preference would be Haathi Mere Saathi. Such memories!
ReplyDeleteMine too Corinne. So many memories, being kids back then.
DeletePoor Andrew Ridgely, a footnote in music history.

Sad that the lyricists are always forgotten, unless they are The Beatles!
DeleteGreat choice for ABC ~ music is always good ~~ thanks, namaste, (A Creative Harbor)
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol. Glad you liked it. Namaste.
DeleteWhat a very good way to have a musical C post. I really liked both video's but the elphants were so darn cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wanda. Yep, I think the elephants are cute too - and such a big hit back then.
DeleteI love careless whisper! Catching up with ABC.
ReplyDeleteC is for...

PS.. COMMENTS makes me happy!
Thanks Rose. Comments make me happy too. Thanks for visiting and commenting.
DeleteCareless Whisper is a weird song for me. Sometimes I really like it and sometimes I can't turn it off fast enough. Don't know what it is. But those elephants amused me. ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on completing UBC.
Thanks Cheri. Glad you liked the elephants - they were cute. I like the Saxophone bits in Careless Whisper - that's what does it for me.
