UBC Jul 17 - Paying It Forward

Ultimate Blogging Challenge  and  NaBloPoMo - Day 17

Paying it forward brings it all back.

Last year when I took part in one of the blogging challenges, I tried to feature posts each day that I enjoyed. When I finished the challenge, I found that paying it forward was the part that I enjoyed the most.

I've been thinking a lot lately that I haven't done that during this challenge (other than a post or two) so when The Write Tribe put up their prompt today, it was the perfect opportunity to combine a daily thought with paying it forward.

Paying it forward brings it back to you, but do it without any expectations. Blessings come when you do a deed selflessly.

So here's my list of 5 blogs that I've enjoyed visiting in the last 2 months:

I love Beloo's blog Let Beauty Be Your Constant Ideal. Her posts are spiritual and thought provoking and they resonate with my soul. Her beauty shines through her words. I also love her blog banner.

Sanch is Living Her Impefect Life and blogging about her delightful life adventures. I love blogs that showcase personal stories. There's something about real life stories that fiction can't match at all. Sanch's posts are easy to read and well written.

The Twinkle Eyed Traveller Rajlakshmi takes us on her travels around Australia. Her photography is spectacular but she also adds a personal touch through snippets of her thoughts and experiences and a sprinkling of her own pictures.

Cat's Catittude and Gratitude is a delightful blog as Cat writes with poetic flair and I love poetry. Her blog generally puts a smile on my face.

Francene's Blog Year 2014 is a new blog that I've found through the Ultimate Blogging Challenge. I love the way Francene writes. Her posts are thought provoking, with good tips and pointers, and personal experiences.

Happy reading.

UBC Jul 16 - Beauty comes from within

Ultimate Blogging Challenge  and  NaBloPoMo - Day 16

This afternoon while I waited for my food to be warmed, I aimlessly flicked through a magazine. My mind was a million miles away so I wasn't really paying attention to the pages.

Then suddenly the words "beautiful skin from the inside" caught my eye and again as I flicked through the pages, the words went around and around in my head.

So today's daily thought is adapted from those words.

The human race is so obsessed with beauty. Unfortunately of the external kind. But external beauty is temporary. What prevails is the beauty within - beautiful mind, beautiful heart, and good health.

When we see someone and think how beautiful, it's not their looks we see, but the light that shines from within them. Babies and little children are perfect examples of beauty shining through from within. No make up needed there.

So be like the baby. Be beautiful, stay beautiful.

UBC Jul 15 - Life Is Not A Race

Ultimate Blogging Challenge  and  NaBloPoMo - Day 15

Life is not a race, slow down

image from my facebook page Suzy's Ilation

About three weeks ago I started a Daily Thoughts series on my facebook page and this was the first one I posted.

While walking to work from the railway station that day I was hurrying along keeping pace with the crowd. There were big tall men, young girls, and I struggled uphill at their pace. Suddenly this thought came into my head "you don't need to keep up with the rest, life is not a race, slow down".

Then with a strange detachment I watched them all hurrying along. I felt they all seemed to want to be ahead of the rest and each one was striving to out do the other.

I slowed down to a comfortable pace which wasn't too far behind them, and then funnily enough, I caught up with most of them outside the lifts.

Eventually we all reach the place we are meant to be. We reach it in our own way and at our own pace. We don't need to rush around and try to keep pace with the others.

Life is not a race. There are no winners or losers, only travellers.  Slow down and enjoy the journey because when we slow down we have the ability to stop and smell many roses and savour all the moments of our life. After all, isn't that what life is all about?

Check out Vidya Sury's post Do The Slow Dance on the same topic.

Have a super day.
