Do you Zentangle? #vlog #chaiwithsuzy #SuzysIlation

Zentagling in my view is a just a fancy name for doodling which I've loved doing as far back as I can remember. Doodling or Zentangling is quite therapeutic. Probably because it keeps you focussed on the "pattern" you are creating.

I'm sure there is a science behind this art and can be learned, but my zentangles are just random and follow no techniques. But I do need a better pen.

This weekend I picked up my pen again and startd on a new drawing. I hope to keep this up through September (practicing) as this year I would like to take part in Inktober which is a daily art challenge held in October.

So grab a cuppa and join me in my zentangling journey.

  2. I love watching others zentangle on IG, it's so soothing. I'm not super into it myself - I do like to do random doodles sometimes.

    1. Thanks Becky. I enjoy watching others too - something very relaxing about someone zentangling.

  3. Hi Suzy, I don't like 'doodling' as a word...crazy teacher mind for little boys' appendages and zentangle seems to belong to a US group...so I tend to use my term of 'designing patterns' and 'making mandalas'. Am thrilled that the local library is going ahead with my proposal for an adult mindful colouring and mandalas class in October.
Thanks for linking up for #lifethisweek. Next week's optional prompt for 36/52 is Taking Stock. Denyse

  4. I used to read a blog devoted to Zentangle. It does sound relaxing but I have not attempted to take a class. I note art supplies are needed; doodling can be done anywhere you have paper and pen.

    1. Thanks Alana. I haven't taken any classes - that would spoil the spontaneity of zentangling. But I do need a good pen!

  5. Oh, I absolutely love doodling and well, Zentangling too, if that's what some people call it! It feels so therapeutic and is such a wonderful stress-buster. Have put up a few pictures of them on my Insta feed, so it is something that I intend to take up on a regular basis in the coming months. Loved all your doodles, Suzy, even the WIP ones! Its a great hobby and an amazing way to nurture the creativity you've been blessed with. Have fun doodling and do keep sharing them, Suzy. :)

  14. I am a Zentangling expert. I doodle all the time, especially when talking on the phone. I once did a complete envelope one day. I did have the inclination that I should do a heap to sell, but never did it. Great way to be creative :) #openslather
