Summer Holiday:
Youtube - Summer Holiday
I love holidays and I love travelling. So here's a tiny glimpse into some of my Summer Holidays.
S - A surprisingly fun holiday was to Las Vegas in 2002. I had heard that there was a lot more to
Vegas than just the casinos but actually being there and experiencing it was greatly more than
what I had imagined or expected. We had a blast.
U - An unforgettable holiday was in 1993 when we visited London. My cousin was living there
at that time and 4 families converged from the US, India and NZ (us) to celebrate Christmas
(yep, Christmas is in the Summer down under so it was our Summer holiday!). That was just
an awesome holiday. 16 family members all under one roof after many years apart. Truly
unforgettable.
M - The Summers in Mumbai, India, where I grew up, were very hot averaging 32C and my
parents often took us for holidays to cooler places. One such holiday was to Kashmir in
the northern part of India. I was quite young but I remember that holiday quite vividly
particularly the first glimpse of the Himalayas. They are magnificent and a sight to behold.
Someday I would like to go there again.
M - A most memorable Summer holiday was Christmas in New York at my brother's place.
I wished for a white Christmas and got one. So thrilling. Christmas in New York is magical.
E - Exciting and entertaining, nothing beats Disneyland and Universal Studios. Even the rain
bucketing down at Disney couldn't dampen our spirits. We had so much fin.
R - Rome is one of my favourite cities in the world. Rome is just so historical and so romantic.
A traditional legend holds that anyone who throws coins into the Fountain of Trevi, is sure
to visit Rome again. Yay - I threw mine into the fountain and look forward to visiting Rome
again very soon.
It just seems strange to be writing a Summer post as it is Winter here in New Zealand.
But re-living those S-U-M-M-E-R moments warms me up and brings on a smile.
Wherever you are, have a happy, sunny day.
Warm Regards
