A = Always be in awe of things. It's the moments that take your breath away that define your life.

D = Dream Big. Dreams are the key to your destiny. Dreams shape your reality.

V = Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Do the things that excite you and those you really want to do.
      You never know where it may lead.

E = Enjoy each moment. Life is meant to be fun so find the fun in the moment.

N = Never give up on your hopes and dreams. Never give up on life. Dreams do come true
       even though they may take a long time.

T = Take chances. Step outside your comfort zone. Do the things you never thought you were
       capable of doing. (This was tough one for me to overcome).

U = Be unique. Love unconditionally. Uplift someone's soul.

R = Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes the reasons are part of a grand plan that we cannot
       see or understand. Sometimes it's needed for our soul. 

E = Think of life as being an extraordinary and exciting journey. And let it take your breath away.


I love this quote as I think this quote sums up life and adventure very nicely.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming - "WOW - What a Ride!"  ~ Hunter S Thompson.

Have a blast. I know I will even though it's taken me half my life to figure that out.

BFF - My Eyes Adored You

I know I've neglected my blogging yet again but the last few days I've spent some time thinking about this and why my enthusiasm for blogging was waning.

And then I had an aha moment ... I need to blog with gratitude, to look at the positive aspects of life, to blog in a way that raises my energetic vibrations and keeps the abundance flowing.  Without these my heart wasn't truly in it.

So starting off on this one ... a great topic to kick start the new blogging routine.

I am so grateful for the lovely men who came into my life and thankful for those yet to come (special friends and one lovely life-soulmate). And even though some were just friends (but very special friends) and others that went further than that but eventually ended, there was always something about these men that at some point in time touched my soul.

So what was it about them that I loved ...

D = Kind, sweet, intelligent, soft spoken and polite, responsible and smart and ever so cute. I loved the sound of his voice.

G = Sweet and so much fun to be with.  He had a gorgeous smile, a twinkle in his eye and he was always happy. I always felt "taken care of" when he was around.

S = Nice eyes.

N = Classy and well mannered.

R = Sweet, interesting, intelligent, smart and athletic. I loved the way he walked.

V = Smart, intelligent, sweet, soft spoken, witty and a great sense of humour.

I am so lucky. At some point in time, and in their own way, each one of these men made me feel like a million bucks.

But my eyes are yet to adore that man.

ABC Wednesday - Round 10 - J is for ...

James Bond theme songs
This week I've chosen 3 of my favourite James Bond numbers.
So here they are ....




From Russia with love
Is the second movie in the James Bond series starring Sean Connery.
The movie was released in 1963 and is considered by many as the best film in the James Bond series.
The theme song was sung by Matt Monroe and composed by John Barry.

For Your Eyes only
is the twelfth spy film in the James Bond series and the fifth to star Roger Moore. It was released in 1981.

The theme song is sung by Sheena Easton, composed by Bill Conti with lyrics by Michael Lesson.
It is the only James Bond movie which has the lead singer included in the opening credits.

Moonraker
is the eleventh film in the James Bond series and the fourth to star Roger Moore. It was the third and final film in the series to be directed by Lewis Gilbert and was released in 1979.

The theme song is sung by Shirley Bassey and written by Hal David.

Two incredibly special songs this week
and one with an interesting story.



It Is You  I Have Loved - Dana Glover

From the movie Shrek, is written by Harry Gregson-Williams, John Powell and Gavin Greenaway and sung by Dana Glover.

I love this song. It's such a sweet song and it reminds me of someone very special in my heart. Maybe that's why this song always stirs my soul.

It's Only Love - The Beatles

Written mostly by John Lennon, It's Only Love was released in 1965 on their Help album in the UK and Rubber Soul album in the US.

This is also one of their filler songs, but it's one of my favourite Beatles songs. It takes me back to the school days when love was so sweet and innocent. Another song that reminds me of that special someone.

It's not unusual - Tom Jones

Written by Les Reed and Gordon Mills, it was first recorded by Tom Jones and released in 1965.

Not one of my favourite Tom Jones numbers. But it has an interesting story ...

The regular keyboard player was unavailable for the recording session so an unknown teenage keyboard player was recruited for the session. The young keyboard player who called himself Reg was thanked and paid, and he went on his way. About a year later "Reg" changed his name to Elton John.

Confrontation, Love Song, Energy

Confrontation takes up a lot of energy but this is energy that drains not uplifts.

It is human nature to prove ourselves right, to make a point when we believe that we've been wronged. And then we channel all our energies into activities that drain us. No wonder we are stressed and depressed.

Why not channel energies into things that make our spirits soar - think love instead.  When we come from a place of love we look at life with a sense of peace and acceptance. Love is joyful and uplifts.

Buddha said, "In the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins - not through strength but through persistence". The stream does not confront with anger. It flows quietly and gently around the rock and moves on in it's path with confidence. Nature is truly a great teacher. Let go and move on. If you must persist, persist with love.

Mother Teresa said, "Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing". So why confront in anger? Change angry confrontation into a smile and act from a place of love. Give a gift to someone. Let life be like a Love Song - exciting, joyful and fulfilling.

This one sums up (for me) that exhilarating feeling that comes from love.

ABC Wednesday - Round 10 - H is for ...

An easy one to pick this week. Came into my mind almost instantly.
How could I not share one of my favourite songs from my favourite band.
So here it is ... first on my list this week:




I Want To Hold Your Hand - The Beatles

Written by Lennon and McCartney, I want to hold your hand became the Beatles best selling single worldwide.
It was also recorded by them in German entitled Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand.

I love this song and I posted this song on my birthday last year - check it out at Music Monday - My Song

Hold Me Tight - The Beatles

Written by Paul McCartney.  Apparently neither Paul nor John Lennon liked this song. Paul called it a "work" song that he barely remembers and it became just an album filler.
John and Paul may not have liked it, but I do so here it is.

Hold me Thrill me Kiss me - Mel Carter

Written by Harry Noble in 1952 and originally sung by Karen Chandler.
But it was made popular by Mel Carter in 1965 when his version reached no 8 on the Billboard Hot100 and no 1 on the Easy Listening chart.
This song always takes me back to my teenage years.

ABC Wednesday - Round 10 - G is for ...

"Gentle" was an easy selection this week ...




Gentle on my mind - Glen Campbell

Was written by John Hartford. He was inspired to write this song after watching the movie "Doctor Zhivago" and penned it down in 15 minutes.
It won 2 Grammy awards in 1968. Glen Campbell won the Best Country and Western Solo Vocal Performance for his version of "Gentle on my mind".
"Gentle on my mind" is one of my favourite songs. I love the lyrics and each time I hear this song, it takes me back to my school days.
I chose Glen Campbell's version for 2 reasons - G for Glen and also because this was the version I first heard.

While my guitar gently weeps - The Beatles

Was written by George Harrison and recorded by The Beatles in 1968 for the record "The White Album".
It was ranked 136 on the Rolling Stone's list of "The 500  Greatest Songs of All Time", 7 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Songs of all time and 10 on their list of The Beatles 100 Greatest Song.

Harrison wrote this song at his mother's house while he was thinking about the I-Ching. The Eastern concept is that whatever happens is all meant to be and that there are no coincidences - everything has a purpose. "While my guitar gently weeps" was a simple study based on that theory. He decided to write a song based on the first thing he saw upon opening any book as it would be relative to that moment. "Gently weeps" were the words he saw.

On 29 November 2002, The Concert for George was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London as a memorial to George Harrison on the first anniversary of his death. It was organised by his widow Olivia and son Dhani and the music was arranged by Eric Clapton and Jeff Lynn. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr also took part in the event.
Here is the song as sung at the concert. It sounds awesome.
