I no longer make any resolutions as the Universe has a mind of its own and invariably overrides my resolutions.
So many times an exasperated Universe has said to me, okay then go pursue your own course but be prepared for the U turn.
So instead I choose a word or a theme for the year and this year it is Serendipity.
Where will that lead me in terms of writing, who knows. But then isn't that half the fun?
The year has started off serendipitously as I am the first featured poet for 2015 at Poet's United. My interview with Sherry Blue Sky is at Poet's United - Life of a Poet Suzy Que.

ReplyDeleteThanks Rajlakshmi. Happy Blogging to you too.
DeleteTruth is we never know if our plans will ever be realized...we can only make the sincerest of all efforts
ReplyDeleteThanks Naba. True that things are often not dropped into our laps and effort is required. The idea is not to force the issue.
DeleteThat's a lovely and meaningful word, Suzy. I too am not in resolutions, but I am not so sure about picking a word for the year either. I would like to be surprised, let's say :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Beloo. I hope your theme or word arrives serendipitously :)
DeleteI LOVE your word. Within it is contained hope, adventure, chance and exploration! What else would you need? I also admire the fact that you have no resolutions. High five! Neither do I :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Shailaja. You described the word perfectly. High five!
DeleteThat's a wonderful word.
ReplyDeleteMake sure when/if you ever visit New York, that you go to the restaurant Serendipity III. Yummy food!
Thanks Pamela. I am planning to visit New York at Christmas this year. Will definitely visit the restaurant.
DeleteLovely choice of word Suzy. Hope you keep getting happy surprises all year through.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tulika. Looking forward to all the happy surprises.
DeleteHa, it feels like a challenge to all of us to make a fun surprise happen for you. I take up the challenge :-)
ReplyDeleteGo on then Lollipop, I look forward to that fun surprise :D
DeleteSerendipity is such a fun word Suzy! I hope, rather wish for you a serendipitous year...and with your writing too, of course! Have fun and enjoy....see where the road takes you! :) <3

DeleteI love the word you've chosen for the year! It's perfect! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New year and hope 2015 is great!
Thanks Sanch. There's something mystical about Serendipity (though it sounds so serene). Wishing you an awesome 2015
DeleteThat's a good attitude to have. Life can be so perverse! Great choice of word as well. May all go well for you this year and beyond. ☺
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie. Glad you liked my word. Wishing you a fab 2015
DeleteSerendipity has served me well. Hope it does you too, not just throughout 2015.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mali. Looking forward to those serendipitous moments.
DeleteI like the idea of recognising serendipity. What I do is to ask that I can handle whatever comes to the best of my ability, keeping the needs of all concerned in mind.
ReplyDeleteThanks Francene. Your intention is wonderful and so achievable.
DeleteWishing you peace and serendipity all through the year, Suzy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Corinne. Wish you the same.
