Innocence

She was proud of the cake she had created and hoped that she would win the prize that would help towards Charlie's future education.

Little Charlie wished with all his heart she would win for he knew that would make her happy.

She watched in horror as he climbed the stool, grabbed a piece in his little fist.

"It's the best cake I've ever eaten mom and I know you'll win the prize" he said, his cake smeared little face and his radiant eyes looking at her with joy and innocence.

Even though her heart sank, she took him into her arms and gave him a hug, her heart filled with love.

  4. That is so funny because I used to be in the dessert business when my kids were little. One time I was making these cookie "balls" and could not figure out why my platter was not filling up. As fast as I was rolling them, my 2 year old was playing catch with our dog. Very cute story - thanks for the memories
