100 Words - Closed Doors

The Lord has trampled and pulverised me,
pulled the rug beneath my feet,
erased every path,
thrown me into darkness,
closed every door.

Then when all is lost,
your spirit broken,
a light shines,
a window opens,
a path shows up.

But fear and doubt make you turn away
You break down that closed door,
to walk the old path.
The cycle repeats again.

Then your weary soul
urges you to surrender to His will,
to walk His path
with love, faith, courage, strength

And slowly you learn
that when He closes a door
somewhere He will open a window.

  1. My mother has always said that when one door closes another opens. I truly believe it although sometimes it is hard to find!
