UBC Day 4 - My One Word for 2013

Day 4 of the Ultimate Blogging Challenge

I was actually going to blog on another prompt when I came across this post  from Elaine at Tea Leaves on the One Word Challenge.

I thought it would be fun to take part and watch 2013 unfold around my word.

I've chosen "Abundance" as my word for 2013.

This is a word I've often affirmed in my mind, but I think committing it to paper seems to make it more potent with the Universe.

"Abundance" usually conjures up visions of great wealth, but for me abundance is much more than that.

For me abundance is both giving and receiving love, joy, peace, wealth, success/achievement, hope, faith. It is abundance in good health, bountiful nature and most of all, spiritual abundance - connecting with Spirit and Blessings from Spirit.

I am so excited about my word and look forward to watching it unfold in my life.  And from experience I know that it will unfold in totally unexpected ways - often beyond my wildest imaginations - more often than not, totally awesome.

What's your word for 2013?  Please share.

The universe operates through dynamic exchange… giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. and in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives.
~Deepak Chopra

So to start off and get the abundance moving,  I wish you all an abundant and amazing 2013.

  3. Suzy, something struck me about that Deepak Chopra quote. It says: "in our willingness to give that which we seek". It highlights reaping and sowing in my mind. I will seek to apply the principle in my journey with my two words this year. Happy abundance to you! :)

  4. Great word, Suzy! I've heard of the idea of coming up with one word for the year, but I am such an indecisive person that I could never choose just one! I'd be constantly changing it!

    1. Thanks Tasha. It took me a while to select a word. Hence my post on the 4th and not the 1st of Jan. I'm just going with the flow with this word and will look forward to how my world unfolds. Wish you the very best for 2013.

  7. Thought provoking post.....hmmmmm....one word.....I will have to say it's "Focus". I want to learn to focus more, remove the "clutter" in my brain, on my desk, in the house. All with goal to become more productive.

  8. I've heard from several folks choosing a word for the year, and it seems like a great idea, but one that I haven't been able to put my head around entirely, since I have no idea what my word would be! But kudos to you for choosing one, and I wish you all the abundance you could hope for.

  9. Abundance is a great word Suzy! I did a challenge last year and my word was "change." It was enlightening to focus on my word all year and actually see "change" all around me. I hope you are filled with abundance this year.

  10. I like that word. It is something definitely that we need in this day and age, and it is a good reminder. I don't have a word. I should think about that.

  11. Hello Suzy,

I've got to tell you I feel as though each year should go by a theme and I really like "abundance" as a choice.
Personally, I've chosen "evolution" as a theme for the year as I think it symbolizes very well the process that I want to go through this year, to take things and myself, to the next level!
Good luck on your UBC Challenge! ;)
