ABC Wednesday - D is for ...

This was an easy one this week.

One of my favourite singers and one of my favourite songs.

How can you not like ...

Delilah by Tom Jones

Written by Barry Mason with music by Les Reed, it was recorded by Tom Jones in 1968.
It reached number 1 in many countries.

It's amazing what you find on youtube. Here is Delilah in Korean. Wonder what Tom Jones thinks of that.

Wonder why Bollywood hasn't come up with a Hindi version of Delilah

And here's Tom Jones with Pavarotti - an interesting combination.

And now onto Bollywood

Dost Dost Na Raha from the movie Sangam - a classic song and a classic movie.

Starring Raj Kapoor, Vyjayanthimala, and Rajendra Kumar, it was released in 1964 and was the second highest grossing film of the decade.

A sad but beautiful song.

    1. Thanks so much Wanda. Glad you enjoyed that. I like Tom Jones too. Delilah sounds good in any language - such a catchy tune - but the Korean version made me giggle a little.

  6. My dear Suzy,
Even though I know all the singers and songs, I will tell you this for the first time....MUKESH is my favorite because of his style of singing which fits me perfect (smile). When I write...it is his music that I listen to. Thanks for sharing my friend.

  7. Wow, he was really young back then! Always loved his voice, though (and still do!). He was performing in our state last year, I think it was, and I tried so hard to get hubby to take me, but he was adamant that no man his age should be going to see a man of Tom's age gyrate around on a stage. ;-)
